Cresswell beach is a stone's throw away where the kids can get out their buckets and spades. Just up the road is lovely Druridge Bay, a haven for wild life, plants and birds with its miles of sand.

Druridge Pools Nature Reserve is free to visit and open daily. With bird hides, lakes and access onto the Druridge Bay nature reserve, there's a visitor centre with tea room, shop and toilets and water sports too.

Coquet Island is an important seabird colony off the coast of the fishing village of Amble, just 15 minutes drive away. During the breeding season enjoy live images of nesting seabirds at Amble's Northumberland Seabird Centre.
