Things to do in the local area

As well as the world’s best beaches to walk along, you’ll find lots of leisure activities nearby from horse riding to golf at Glororum.

We’re on the national cycle track Sustrans. There’s lots of quiet lanes to pedal around.

Golf fans will be spoilt for choice on where to tee off next. Northumberland is known for the quantity and quality of its golf courses. The closest are Bamburgh, Seahouses, Goswick and Dunstanburgh.

Experience the thrills of horse riding along the beach or on quiet country lanes with Slate Hall Riding Centre.

The Farne Islands are possibly the most exciting seabird colony in England. It’s also home to a large grey seal colony, with more than 1,000 pups born every autumn. Visitors pass lots of these inaccessible islets on boat trips – a short journey to a different world!

Captivate the kids with miles of beaches to explore, sandcastles to build and rock pools to paddle in.

Turn your hand to crazy golf or head indoors to the wild and wacky play area of The Bunker in Seahouses.

Down the road in Bamburgh the Grace Darling Museum has lots of interactive displays and hand on fun.

Wander down fun filled Seahouses’ Main Street and find amusement arcades, children’s rides as well as the Farne Island Gift Shop – a treasure trove of pocket-money friendly finds.
