Things to do in the local area

Whether you’re a culture vulture, an outdoor adventurer, looking for fun things for all the family to enjoy together – or love nothing better than some retail therapy – there really is something for everyone at Clifftop.

Seahouses is known as the gateway to the Farne Islands. Home to thousands of seabirds, including the colourful puffin, cormorants, kittiwakes, terns and many more, the islands are rated by Sir David Attenburgh as being one of the UK’s best wildlife experience. Take an island tour on one of the many party boats. Keep an eye out for dolphins, whales and porpoises, too.

Thanks to its close proximity to Scotland, you’ll uncover Northumberland’s turbulent history at every turn. And with more castles than any other county in England, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to fortress forays. Bamburgh, Holy Island, Alnwick, Warkworth and Dunstanburgh castles are all within easy reach.

Putt it here! Golf lovers can simply stroll from Clifftop to neighbouring Seahouses Golf Club – home of two of the most prestigious par threes in the North of England. Just three miles away is Bamburgh Golf Club – ranked as being one of the most scenic courses in the world.

Northumberland was recently voted the best county in the UK for families. And Seahouses is no exception. From penny arcades, to crazy golf, and from water sport activities ranging from body boarding to kayaking to sand castle building or a game of beach rounders – there’s a never-ending selection of fun to be had for everyone.
